Summary | 0001097: 'open more slots if needed'
Description | when using slot allocation, anything other then using 3k makes the upload unstable, for example, if using max upload 33k and then setting slot allocation to 11k there will be 3 slots at 11, but if all three clients cannot get the 11 (say only 1k each) additional slots are not opened to fill the dead bandwidth thus making a roller-coaster in stats. I personally think having a tweakable upload slot allocation (setting the number of slots to whatever you like) is harming the network because your full upload is not being utilized to its optimize valves, in this, i suggest having either fixed 3k for all clients or something like 'slot focus' which gives dynamic slot allocation, which is automatic (no settings) and will benefit the network (full chunks are finished faster).
Additional Information | this happens on stable 2.1.3 and 2.1.3 CVS.
