0000842: IPv6 capabilities
Because now most of the OS's are IPv6-ready, and more and more ISP are providing IPv6 natively (like Nerim in France, the ISP I'm using) or are about to do it (Wanadoo and Free are testing it), it would be great if aMule were (one of) the first P2P software to implement IPv6.
I know it's a big task, and that lungdunum servers are not IPv6 ready at all, but you could discuss it with them, and and for now work on IPv6 P2P file transferts and kad.
Don't forget it will have to be done one day or another, and things works better when coded w/ a long beta-test.
In my opinion we still have a few years to get ready ;) let's use it.

ed2k doesn't support IPv6. I'll do some test code on my own ED2Kv2 implementation, tho...

That's a nice reaction. I'd like very much to help you if I can, and I would appreciate if you could keep me up-to-date of your experimentations, I'll be happy to test your code.
If you want to do testing by yourself, I can give you a ssh account to access to a linux server who has a native IPv6 connection (no tunneling) and gcc (if you need something else just ask).
