0000522: amuled crashes with fd > 1023

Description

After 24 hours (more or less), amuled gets high-numbered fd. At first it caused array-overflow, so I handled it. Later it fell on the two asserts (fd < FD_SETSIZE). When I tried to bypass the assert, I started to get even higher numbers (like 1153 etc.).
It happens all the time, but always only after 24 hours. Tested several times before I opened that issue.
Please let me know if any more information is needed.
