Summary0001186: amuled - Complete lockup of system
DescriptionWell, pretty easy - see topic
I used amuled on server, after some amount of time (always within 0.05-2h), it locks up the system. Can't provide additional info. logs don't report anything. The server usually is up 24/7, perfectly reliable, I only restart when installing new kernels. This problem showed up about 1 year ago already, and I stopped using amule for that reason, thought I'd give it a try again. I'm sure it should be no problem to reproduce it for you (is amuled under development anyway?) however, this is the ultimate showstopper. It's independent of the load. happens at 3kB up/down combined, as well as at 1000kB, happens with different kernels, glibc-versions, whatever. I don't know how this is possible, really. I hope you understand I won't do any(more) testing on that machine.

Ah, btw, cpu load is extremely volatile (at same network-load) ranges from 5% sys/user combined to 100%.

# amulecmd --version
amulecmd 2.1.3 using v2.6.3 (Unicoded)
# uname -a
Linux Pentium1 2.6.21-gentoo-r4 0000001 Thu Jul 26 13:18:17 CEST 2007 i586 Pentium 75 - 200 GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

It is a Pentium-S at 120 Mhz with 128 MB RAM

What's the hardware of your server? What compile options do you use?

It looks like an ethernet driver issue.
What is your ethernet card and your motherboard name?
For example sky2 driver (marvell chip) is well known for freezing systems randomly when put under stress (even with the latest kernel versions).
