I had this problem too. But as it turned out the problem wasn't aMule but the tons of fake emule servers out there (Sonny Boy & Co)!

So if you are connected to a server with 1,5 mio. people it might only have a few thousands or even a handful ... who knows.

I got myself a recent ipfilter.dat and cleaned up the server list. And see ... it get's what it should get all the time now.

It seems to be clear now that this problem is caused by bad (fake) servers. We will most likely have to find a way to distingish between fake and real servers.

It seems that this was indeed caused by a problem within aMule, which led to no UDP searches being done. If the user was also connected to a bad server, it would result in no sources for new files. If the problem still persists after the fix has been applied, then we need to start looking at filtering servers.
